Get Involved
Our work includes affirmative litigation, legislative reform, policy advocacy, community outreach, and legal training about the problem of gender-based discrimination and how communities can help fight such bias. We also provide "know your rights" materials to vicitms of gender-based discrimination, represent some of these individuals and connect others to qualified pro bono counsel.
Volunteer Lawyers
We welcome law graduates, lawyers between jobs or currently practicing lawyers to join our efforts in advancing laws and policies to create gender equality in all areas of private and public life. We can utilize interested lawyers in many areas of our work: litigation, public policy projects, legislative initiatives, outreach, and public education. If interested in working with us please email lbetters@genderequalitylaw.org

Legal Interns and Externs
We accept full and part-time interns and externs, on a rolling basis throughout the year. These positions can be filled by law students, recent law school graduates or admitted attorneys. These positions are unpaid, but law students are often able to obtain academic credit for the work. We encourage applicants to look for funding through their law schools or other funding sources.
Please submit a cover letter stating your interest in a position at GELC and your availability (days/hours per week), resume, and a brief writing sample to lbetters@genderequalitylaw.org. In the subject line, write "Law School Intern", "Law Graduate" or "Volunteer Lawyer," as well as the part of the calendar year in which you are interested in working at GELC, e.g. Spring, Summer or Fall and the year.
