The Gender Equality Law Center is excited for the second screening in our Feminist Film Series. On Wednesday, May 1st, at 5:30pm, please join us for a screening of the award-winning documentary NETIZENS, featuring an exclusive Q&A with Director Cynthia Lowen and superstar attorney Carrie Goldberg, who is featured in the film. There will also be a wine & cheese reception.
NETIZENS exposes the proliferation of cyber harassment faced by women, spreading from the web to the most intimate corners of their lives. As the internet becomes the next frontier of civil rights, this feature documentary follows three women who are targets of harassment, along with advocates, legal experts and others, as they confront digital abuse and strive for equality and justice online.
Day in and day out, the folks at GELC work tirelessly to fight sexism, transphobia, homophobia, and all forms of gender bias, smashing down barriers caused by both explicit prejudice and implicit bias through strategic litigation, trainings, and legislative advocacy. But we need your help to continue doing the amazing work it’s been doing - all proceeds of this event will be donated to GELC.
The venue is intimate and we anticipate this event to sell out, so don’t wait to purchase your ticket. Please be sure to arrive when the bar opens at 5:30pm so you have time to enjoy wine and cheese before the screening starts promptly at 6:30. We hope to see you there!
